Personal Interests
Outside the Office
When I step away from research and teaching, I prioritize staying physically active, maintaining discipline through fitness, and enjoying good food.
Weight Training & Calisthenics
- Dedicated Strength Routine: Strength training is my core habit for physical discipline and mental clarity. Even during demanding academic weeks, I make sure to get in at least a couple of focused sessions to reset.
- Pull-Ups: My favorite movement is the strict pull-up—focusing on uncompromising form with a complete dead-hang at the bottom and pulling all the way to maximum chest-to-bar height at the top.
Cycling & Hill Climbing
- Fondness for Climbs: While I cycle less frequently these days, I have always had a strong passion for hill climbing and sustained elevation challenges.
- Favorite Routes in Seoul: When I was based in Seoul, my go-to cycling routes were the iconic uphill climbs of Namsan Tower (Namsan Mountain) and Bugaksan (Bukak Skyway), which offered both punishing ascents and rewarding views.

Snowboarding & Winter Sports
- Winter Mountain Trips: During the winter season, I head to the mountains for snowboarding whenever my schedule permits, appreciating the focus, speed, and carved turns on open slopes.
